Vepar ( also Vephar) is the Great Duke of Hell in the Ars Goetia of the Lesser Key of Solomon. He rules 39 legions of spirits.

This demon appears in the shape of Mermaid. He can show up both as a man and a woman. This Duke is the Sea demon and its the area of his duties. Vepar governs the waters and controls the War armored ships with ammunition and weapons. He decides if to let the ship go, or to drown it. Vepar commands the wings , and is able to cause the horrible storm in the sea. If he will wish- he can turn the crew of the ship into the ghosts. Same as the ship itself. And the Ghost-ship with people on it will travel in the seas for eternities. Also this powerful Duke of Hell is the talented illusionist. He can turn the ship into the invisible one and also can create the mirages . Vepar can make people float above the water. He Likes people to suffer and his big joy is to make men very sick and die within 3 days. Those poor people will get putrefying wounds and internal organs . Worms will breed inside them. Despite the bad reputation, Vepar is very friendly to the summoners. In any situation he stays calm , relaxed and organized, both in the peaceful times and wars. The ones, who decided to summon Vepar, should do it only at night time, burning black and green candles and to carry the wormwood . As the legends tell , Wormwood is the Tobacco of the Sailors. You should be careful while contacting Vepar. Yes, he is friendly to summoner, But He is too much motivated to appear in your world and it will be hard to stop him later.
